Noi lives with his father in a little house by the ocean, his father is a fisherman. While his father is out fishing all day, Noi hangs out with the many stray cats that have taken up residence in and around his home.
In the wake of a storm, a baby whale finds itself washed up on the beach. Luckily for the baby whale, Noi finds it while out for wonder. He scoops it up into a wheelbarrow and takes it home to care for it. Noi atempts to keep his new companion a secret from his father. Obviousy he can’t keep this up for long and tells his father there is a whale in the bath tub. They leave that night to take the baby whale back out to sea where it belongs.
It’s a heart-warming story about the relationship between a father and son. I feel nostalgic when reading this book. It reminds me of childhood, long summers, and days gone by.
